“The Finance Profession” is not only a handbook for financial managers and executives, but a CFO’s “how-to” manual for entrepreneurs and CEOs.
I have written this book in simple, easy-to-understand language for non-financiers. My goal was not to create another textbook on corporate finance with numerous English three-letter acronyms (like NPV), but an extremely accessible guide to building financial management in business.
Modern businesses are very dynamic and therefore demanding of their internal services – including finance, legal, HR, and other similar teams. Accounting, reporting, budgeting – everything has to be flexible, and people have to be dynamic and customer-centric. My book is about organising a modern, flexible, platform and customer-centric financial service with a human face.
The book has 10 chapters, 16 illustrations – all of them in one way or another relate to the key areas of responsibility and development of a financial manager – management accounting and planning, asset management, risk control, motivation of people. Special attention is paid to personal development of a financial specialist, goal-setting, career paths, decision-making at different life and professional stages.
I hope the book will bring you pleasure in reading, will be understandable and useful, and most importantly – will help you build an effective system of financial management in business and life.
